Lala.com Music Store
By MD • Oct 21st, 2008 • Category: InternetDavid Chartier at ars technica says, “What happens when a company builds a web-based music store that stays in sync with your local library and offers unlimited streaming access to all your tracks and playlists? They call it “the new Lala.com,” and we call it a game changer.”
Lala.com is a music store that allows you to play over 6 million songs free. You can stream your favorite songs or simply download them.
What Lala.com says:
- Play over 6 million songs for free – no ads or clutter.
- Play your music, anywhere on the web. Instantly upload the tracks on your computer to your Lala collection.
- Get a feed of music picks from friends and experts.
- Buy new music, easily and affordably.
As far as nerdcore hip hop goes, YTCracker, Beefy, Schaffer the Darklord and MC Lars are a few of the ones I could find. No MC Frontalot or Ultraklystron.
I signed up and tried out the service. The streaming works well and the quality is great. You can listen to the 6 million songs free but only once. Still, it’s a good deal. You can add the music on your computer to Lala.com and stream it free from other locations. That’s a pretty neat feature but not one I’m likely to use.
Overall, I like Lala and will use it frequently to find new music.
MD is Hi, I'm Mad DPS or MD as I'm known here. But you can also call me Tim. I started Nerdy Life Magazine, Nerdy Fest NW and the Nerdcore Artist Wiki to contribute something (however insignificant) to the community I call home. Other than blogging, I'm also a rapper, music producer, veteran, and student.
